Axel

Axel was found by my pug, Mister, who died 2 weeks later from a cancer called hemangiosarcoma. Axel has a leash and collar on him, but no microchip, no name tag, no phone number. We posted him on Facebook and a woman who lived in an apartment claimed him, but said she found him on the streets as well and that they were going to take him to the shelter the next day. My husband was out of town and asked me to keep him for a couple of days for a “trial run”. I knew that meant we were going to keep him. We had four dogs at the time and that was way too much - but not for long. Mr. Passed two weeks later, our beloved 17 year old Chihuahua, Kato died one year later, and our sweet Guam-adopted mixed breed dachshund- Chihuahua died Christmas of 2023. Axel was the lone survivor and he has been our spirit-dog ever since. He came at just the right time- heaven sent!
